Jordan Davis, shot in Florida in November, will be on the first 2013 cover of Jet magazine. MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry [5] spoke with Jet's editor in chief about this choice, and how the magazine has long been a vehicle for civil rights journalism, beginning with the publication of controversial photos of Emmett Till's disfigured corpse in 1955.
