Leave it to former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu, the Romney surrogate who earlier in the election cycle said that President Obama should "learn how to be an American," to take criticism of this week's lackluster debate performance to the next level, labeling the incumbent candidate "lazy." From Politico:
"What people saw last night, I think, was a president that revealed his incompetence, how lazy and detached he is, and how he has absolutely no idea how serious the economic problems of the country are, and how he has failed to even begin to address them," Sununu -- a top Romney surrogate -- said on MSNBC Thursday ...
Pressed by host Andrea Mitchell about whether Sununu really intended to call Obama "lazy," Sununu stood by his comments.
See a theme here? We can bet that if President Obama dominates Romney in the next debate, he'll be "angry." Debates aside, any attempt to stop these read-between the-lines, racially coded insults appears to still be a losing battle.
