Geoffrey Canada, president and CEO of Harlem's Children's Zone, founded his organization to help steer the children of the famed New York City neighborhood through school and into college.
In an episode of Finding Your Roots With Henry Louis Gates, Jr. [4], Gates, who is editor-in-chief of The Root, calls him a "father figure" to so many children of Harlem. But Canada has a very complicated history with his own father. Watch the exclusive clip below to find out what happened when he saw his father for the first time in years.
