Harlem's Father Figure Seeks His Own Dad
Geoffrey Canada, president and CEO of Harlem's Children's Zone, founded his organization to help steer the children of the famed New York City neighborhood through school and into college.
In an episode of Finding Your Roots With Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Gates, who is editor-in-chief of The Root, calls him a "father figure" to so many children of Harlem.
