For those of us here are not political junkies but average viewers and readers. I think for Barack to select good honest people to operate his campaign is the challenge. This is a multi-million dollar national operation not a city based business. Yes mistakes will be made, like individuals do in their own lives its how they manage damage control and prevent blunders at this scale.I believe the bar for Barack is much higher and he will be subject to more critisism that the others. Let it be constructive so the campaign can learn from it...quickly.

This article is useless.Running a national campaign is more difficult than you let on. No campaign or candidate will be perfect. Unfortunaltely Obama's bar is raised so high mistakes WILL be made. If you think he and the staff will do eveything right then your dreaming..unless you're looking for this thing to fall...

Finally! Someone has the huevos to call out Barry on this issue1 He has never been a new type of candidate. You don't get that far on your own that quickly. Period. Look back, the Muslims told they couldn't be onstage, the not speaking in Mosques, the racist granny, FISA, church based funding, campaign finance, the fact that for all the black people voting for him you certainly don't see that percentage in the tv shots of him onstage. I could go on. Who decided to play race like a violin? How on earth did they make the Clintons racists?! He hasn't called the shots since someone decided he was the perfect "Spook By The Door." I'm a black (not african american) liberal democrat and I can honestly say I'm frightened by what this man owes somebody.

The question, "Is Barack in Charge of Campaign Obama" is petti and a slap in the face. Obama has surrounded himself with many competent people and from this group, the world is witnessing one of the most profiently run campaigns in the history of this country.

Take it from me, I am a Georgian and Max Cleland is no saint and was not a good senator. We the voters ( Democrats) knew that he was no good and didn't serve his constiuents. I wrote a letter to his office for help on an immigration issue that involved my husband and I never got a reply. Zell Miller of all people was more help to me than any politician in Georgia. People need to know that if incumbents are allowed to remain in office too long, they become to complacent. Obama is smart and does his homework.

This decision was (to me, at least) obviously made based on a principles established many moons ago. And, at a time when he is preparing for what may well be the most important weeks of his campaign for the White House, he must trust his people. Sometimes people make what might seem a mistake to some, a decision that cause some consternation and disagreement. Par for the course, naturally. Frankly, I admire the decision because it was based on principle, and his people stuck to it, regardless. Yes, Mr. Cleland is an admirable figure, disgracefully maligned by the Bush campaign. But the fact remains, he is a registered lobbyist, not a martyred saint.

If the Senator is in charge of every strategic decision of his campaign, he'd be the first in modern politics. How would any human being who lives on a planet with only 24 hours in a day have time to manage a truly nationwide campaign organization, formulate policy, travel and address the many public venues he has to, find time for rest, etc., without aides trusted to make decisions?

BTW, I read somewhere that the press was licking their chops when it looked like he would fall flat meeting his fund raising goals in June. Don't hold your breath. People are pragmatic, and the news that Republicans still have more money than the Democrats even with Obama out fundraising McCain 2 - 1 means Dems should be cautious with the pouting.

My answer has to be, no.
It's unrealistic to think that Obama is in control since he doesn't have the qualifications or experience to run a national campaign. Actually, he doesn't have the experience to run anything.

To say that Barack Obama does not have the "experience to run anything" is a cop-out and probably the most blatant form of racism I have witnessed in a very long time. For the author of that statement, just take a minute and compare this man's qualification with your own.

Most politicians are puppets for moneyed interests. They are chosen for their spinelessness and flexible morals. This profile is easiest to manipulate and will respond favorably to considerations.
