Obama Closes the Deal, Finally
Moments earlier, Clinton, far less magnanimous in tone, had made it clear that she would not be officially leaving the race last night. "This has been a long campaign, and I will be making no decisions tonight," she said.
Was she angling for the vice-president spot? The question of her right to be Obama's running mate will test the Democratic Party in the coming weeks. Clinton supporters clearly think that she has earned her way onto the ticket.
Obama supporters, many of whom have come to despise Clinton, will be left to wrestle with the fact that the loser in this race has nearly as much power over the eventual outcome as the winner.
So watch for a necessary warming in the Obama-Clinton relationship over the next few days and weeks, because, as Lincoln said 150 years ago: "A house divided against itself cannot stand."
And this nominee will clearly need the whole house.

Hey Monty, Your exact quote "The reason I would not vote he has a hate for many one that disagrees with him. Time will tell who was right, MONTY" Please explain this comment and provide proof. Obviously you personally know something about Obama that we don't know. I don't want to believe that you can actually say that he has a hate for anyone who disagrees with him, without proof as this is just spreading lies about him and aiding the smear campaign against him.
And if you have no proof, you have just shown yourself for what you are. Set in your ways and not ready for change. Tell me has this something to do with your age? The race issue does not even come to play because as you say Obama is as much white as he is black - maybe even moreso white -having been raised by his white grandparents.

"Tonight I can stand here and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States," he said, with all the understated drama that has marked his rise to prominen "
There over 19,000,000 voter that stated he will not be in the oval office.
Before all the flames came fly by. At 75 years old I have seen a lot of changes, some for good and not so bad. Obama is just as much white as black. The reason I would not vote he has a hate for many one that disagrees with him. Time will tell who was right, MONTY
