Well here goes - if it's good enough for everyone else who thinks this will get to Michelle - it's good enough for me.
Dear Michelle,
Please give your husband the confidence to stand up to the Clintons - whether Barack folded to Hillary's extortion on June 5th at Diane Feinstein's - when Hillary threatened she would only support him if he gave her the Secretary of State - or even if Hillary left it open to choose later - it doesn't matter.
Please hold your husband dear - and tell him everyone who voted for him - those of us who knew in 2004 - we will support him now.
Tell him to tell Hillary that the game is over - blackmail, extortion, outwresting, and exaction are illegal. He owes her Nothing. Extortion is a crime - Barack will go down with her if this comes to pass.
Today we will forgive him - but if he follows through - and she takes over SoS -- We won't be allowed to forget. Help him now. Please. You are the only one who can give him the strength. Everything everyone worked for is at stake.
Hillary and Bill will devour him - but you know that.

In the coming days, please do your best to discourage Barak from appointing Larry Summers as Secretary of the Treasury. In 2005, Harvard University insisted upon the resignation of its president, Larry Summers, for his mysogynist comments that women are under-represented in math and science because our abilities in these areas are innately inferior to men's. This is the same type of argument that has been used historically to support slavery, and to suppress the right to vote. Harvard did the right thing by recognizing this kind of hate speech for what it was, and pushing this chauvinist out the door.

You see, I am a 44 year Afican America female, mother of 2 African America young women, and today because of you I walk taller. You have mentioned several times that you will be getting a dog soon. I would like to suggest that you ADOPT one of the millions of homeless -- and wonderful -- pets from one of the hundreds of shelters throughout our country. Despite the American Kennel Club's promotion for you to get a purebred, I URGE you to consider setting a new precedent. Think of the terrific effect adopting from a shelter will have on the American public and the help it will provide to these shelters. PLEASE -- YOU CAN!!! Re-think your old way of thinking about a dog -- it doesn't have to be BOUGHT to be a fantastic pet. Wishing you all the best. -

Dear Ms. Obama-
First of all--as a WHITE, MIDDLE-CLASS constituent--I was, from the beginning, very impressed with your seemingly intelligent and open-minded views. It never mattered to me that this intelligent woman was black. She was a woman, intelligent and eloquent (period).
Now that Michelle LaVaughn Robinson's senior thesis has come into light for the world to see, I'm beginning to wonder if such a person--male, female, transexual, black, white, asian, muslim, hindu, catholic(Shall I go on?)--with SUCH a definite agenda should be influencing, much less even be in such close proximity, to an upcoming world-leader--whether he attains presidency or not.
I mean, isn't the first priority of any government official to think of the COMMON good for all US citizens--even those of another color or race? I'm just very concerned as one of the openly-targeted people that you, at least in a very important time in your life, blatently had no use for. A Princeton University senior thesis is nowhere near the blog/email/Dear Abby venting that a thinking person would use to just let out some day-to-day irritations. This had to have been heart-felt and long thought out.
In closing, I just hope that since writing said thesis, you have had a chance to experience more of the world around you and perhaps changed some of your views and feelings. But I guess, as with all else in the politics arena, hope springs eternal. -

Like we can control what a person does? Sure smoking has been proven to shorten life, so too does stress shorten our lives and at times scar our bodies through surgery. I pray for my loved ones that smoke, that the power of God as I understand God, will strengthen them all the while as I realize that it is I who am judging their actions as if Nature herself gave me that honor. i am a north carolina democrat of a certain age. i have voted for not democrats in the past - ed brook among them - i live in mass. now since 1962 -
and i vote my mind, not my pocketbook.
i want to speak to you about a speech pattern rather than your thoughts. they are good. forget the guy who wants your husband to smoke a cigarette. encourage him to picture himself with half his lower lip cut away due to cancer. worked for me. i quit smoking after most of 40 years.
rather i want to ask you to get rid of "you know" from your speech patterns. i noted in the quotes from you tonight on excite.com a heavy sprinkling of "you knows" and that is a 1980s teenage verbalization. drop it.
it is as charming as, when discussing a conversation, the then teen group speaking: and then he goes i told you so, and then kit goes, well why not? and then i goes well, i don't like it.
no one wants to listen for 4-8 years to a woman who speaks like a teenager.
i recognize that you are brilliant and that you are the glue in the marriage, but it is important for the rest of the world to hear you as exactly that person, not sounding like a prattling latent teenager. -

I have not found a way to reach the Obama's. I will say one thing and that is if Hillary Clinton becomes his VP I will vote for McCain. I have mineral rights from my Grandfathers Homestead near Casper Wyo. I was told by the courthouse in Douglas that the wells remain closed because Bill Clinton had the Refinery dismantled rather than do some repairs. Go on line and you will find he shut down nine refineries which is why the Saudi Oil Minister said they could send us more oil but we can't refine it. Also I like the fact that Obama will raise the Cap on Soc. Sec. $97,000 is too low when you have 20 million dollar NBA players to 40 million oil tycoons only having to pay S.S. taxes on the first $97,000. McCain won't raise them because it raises the taxes on the middle class. A family of four is middle income at $80 to $90 thousand. Edwards says to have a bubble in S.S. taxes. From the cap of $97 thousand to $200 thousand no increase but after $200 thousand on let the rich pay. This country cannot let the middle class and lower go without S.S. with the cost of living heading where it is. The fact about the war is before all troops come home some have to be left to protect the civilian workers over there that are rebuilding Schools, Roads, Housing etc. There are several contract workers there and an Embassy to protect. We also need to rebuild the military as this country should be prepared to fight a war on two fronts such as WWII and the Nat. Guard to take care of the interior. What if Israel blows up or what if China says we are going to take Taiwan back which they want. What if North Korea uses the bomb or Iran which will have it soon. What if this country gets hit with a WMD Terrorist hit in the next ten years. Here in Oregon the mouth of the Columbia hit would hit shipping. What if the Wind Farms were hit or food supply. If Edwards becomes the VP then I will vote for Obama but if the Clinton bunch become part of the VP choice then I plus as I understand many Independent voters will switch to McCain. I have never sent an email to any news program and I am especially surprised it was CNN. A program that I felt was balanced. I was so shocked by the Glenn Beck show of May 6, 2008, I emailed him. Here is a copy of what I sent. I was unable to find a way to send this to Michelle herself but I hope others will listen to what I had to say. I am just an ordinary American citizen but needed to say this. Thank you:
I have always had the utmost respect forCNN and all of their broadcasters. You sir have been the exception. Of course you certainly don't care what one American baby boomer thinks but when you spoke about Michelle Obama in such a criticle and negative way I was shocked. Her address on 5/5/08 was staight on. You and you white male conterpart were speaking as if the gates of poverty and unfair practices in this country were not closed to this young black female. Have you ever spoken to the disenfranchised in this country? Do you know how unequal the advantagages to the poor, uneducated and non-caucasion legal Americans are. You can't possibly be in touch with this century. I felt her speech was inspiring. Not just to the young black females but to all Americans. Shame on you for putting a negative spin on a positive message. I am a middle class white female and I was shocked by your comments. You and the rest of your talking heads need to get a clue of what is going on in the lives of our young. They are hopeless. And why wouldn't they be listening to white upper middle class males telling them that the day of being anything you what to be in this wonderful country is possible when we all know that is just not true. We are not a nation of idiots. We are aware of the state of this country that I love and work in and gladly pay my taxes to. Your message was just a slap in the face of a very intelligent women, whether she be the future first lady or one of our many intelligent, articulate women. Shame on CNN for giving you one minute of time. Making someone else look stupid is the quickest way to make yourself look ignorant.

Dear yomama, Please take your ignorance elsewhere! You know nothing about Mrs. Obama's personal narrative and what (including her stint at an Ivy League school) has shaped her ideology concerning America. I have always challenged my students to look beyond race and avoid the victim narrative, but people like yomama make it very difficult for me and others to argue that position. FYI Unlike private and state supported Majority colleges and universities Historically Black Colleges and Universities have NEVER excluded whites...the inception of these institution is a direct result of black peoples exclusions from MAJORITY institutions. And, please don't talk about high standards and morals we have seen what that gets us...low standards and NO morals... just religious dogma! -

Oppression does last forever... in your mind! And that's good because it means you'll always have an excuse for your failures and a reason for your self-pity. The Democrats are not united because they keep dividing themselves by race, class, and gender! If you want to unite - you have to pick a candidate who runs on VALUES. Serious people don't care about race or gender - they care about good workable IDEAS that reflect high standards and MORALS. All of Obama's ideas are liberal failures from the 60's. All the policies he proposes are failed liberal policies from the 70's. You don't stick with people Ayers and Wright for long without real deficiencies in MORAL JUDGEMENT. Don't you people ever learn? -

I am a Jamaican woman and proud of the example your husband is setting. Encourage him to show the world that people of mixed heritage, who are classified as blacks, can be dignified, calm, relevant, intelligent and capable of greatness. Rev Wright is Rev Wrong and an example of how we are perceived: mischief makers, filled with hate and bitterness, refusing to be a success now instead of bleating about our forefathers' struggles. Encourage Barack to continue to represent the world because whether people want to acknowledge it or not, none of us are thoroughbreds anymore. Quit the white, black, asian label song. Let us focus on how to live better quality lives, use our MBAs to prevent wars, produce more food, save the habitats of animals we must keep alive in order that we humans do not become extinct.

Dear Michelle: I believe your husband has carried this race as a real gentlemen and omitted much of the ugly and bad stuff which could have been said about Hillary; again, he has been a real gentlemen wanting to run a campaign on the issues and like my candidate choice, John McCain, with some dignity! Hillary on the other hand has acted like a "gossiping woman" and very unlady like at her age. I hope and pray she is not elected and Bill needs to be put out to pasture with her QUICK!. I'm saddend when I hear Democrats who support Obama speak of voting for McCain over Clinton. Looking at the issues, there isn't much difference between the Dems. McClain's views are far different, so to vote for a personality over the issues only makes the process a contest of personalities. If you're angry about the Party, change it. If you vote McCain, vote for him based on his stance on what is important to you. -

With her comments on her " Finally being proud to be an American " . Sounds to me like she has know for along time about the good reverends comments and believes the same as he does . Toward Whites in America, even tho she went to an Ivy League School. Maybe she should have went to one of the many all black schools. Which by the way only the "blacks " get. Given the Clintons post-Iowa activities it is not unreasonable to ponder whether, let's call it, Clintonianism, in the long run (AA's matter at infinity) is a greater threat to AA's than the Republican Party and/or John McCain in the short term, relatively speaking. Further, it is as reasonable for those so disposed to conclude that it is, as it is those disposed as you are to conclude that it is not. -

This is such ignorance, what are you? A reporter?!! Barack is a fighter, an amazing politician. I saw him last night holding court in NC with people packed to the rafters in the Dean Dome. He came out on stage at 10:30 at night, and he did not stutter. He spoke with no telepromter, and there was a few pieces of paper on the podium, but he didn't touch them. All kinds of people were there--so if you really knew what you were talking about--which you don't--you would know that he is on stride. There is some news. Hate not, because we are fired up! -
