Greetings and sak pase?

I have seen Power discuss this book on a couple of tv shows and listened to her on NPR. She is great and sounds so passionate and learned about this figure and personality. What struck me was that this man was the kind who wanted to get a real feel of the people by setting up shop within the community. That is a good idea. At this time, when the MINUSTAH the United Nations forces in Haiti are working to destroy the self determination of our people I found this account most compelling indeed. In fact, a few years ago almost right after Jean Bertrand Arisitide was ousted in 2004, the Brazilian man in charge of the MINUSTAH in Haiti/Ayiti was found shot to death. He had been working to free the people while the Haitian elite was trying to push him to become more violent against the downtrodden.
I have always admired and revered Brazilians. From Pele to Paolo Friere and so many others. de Mello will be in my mind too. Still, I think the UN should de-centralize and do away with uppity dogma and get down with the people for the people.
Best,
