To Denounce and Reject

Type Size

Senator Clinton, who fought her own battles over unsubstantiated charges of anti-Semitism during her 2000 race for U.S. Senate, seemed delighted that Senator Obama was being put in an untenable position. By egging on Mr. Obama to go beyond his comments during the debate and give Farrakhan a complete verbal slap-down, she was calculating the political stakes. She was clearly reaching for the possibility that Obama would be tainted merely because Farrakhan said a few kind words on his behalf.

Perhaps this sounded as old and tired to others as it did to me. Surely voters can be trusted to judge Obama by the content of his character and not Farrakhan's.

Twenty-three years is a long time. Maybe it's time we put the Farrakhan litmus test to rest -- for good.

I think that Minister Farrakhan has the ear of the Black American public. Jeremiah Wright called him Black America's E.F.Hutton. Those in power know that he represents what most in Black American feel on the inside, but may be afraid to express on the outside. They know that his ideas are the only substantial counter idea in the war of the hearts and minds of the American public.
Due to the ugly history of America with respect to its Black citizens, there is a guilt and fear that exists in the minds of the powerful in this nation. They know history. They also know the universall and immutable law of 'reaping and sowing.' So they are kind of like Cain was after he slew Abel. He said that "every man that sees me will slay me." He feared the retribution of his sins against his brother. Whites in power fear divine retribution for what was done to Blacks that has never been repaired or atoned for.

This is why they want to see if those who will join the ranks of the powerful are in alignment with the sentiments of Minister Farrakhan, because in the war of ideas he is the opposing sides Commander in Chief.

By the way, you are wrong to posit the view that he is anti-semitic. To be anti-semitic, would make him anti-black, as Blacks number among the Semitic peoples.

    Peace,

i cannot believe that nobody cares what obamas wife said about not being proud to be an american until now,and that obama didn't put his hand on his heart or he did not put his hand on the bible when sworn in. and on top of all that he is affiliated with the two most influential black ministers who teach nothing but hate against everybody who is not black how sad is that. what will it take to make america see that he is NOT ANY different than them. IF HIS OWN WIFE FEELS THAT WAY THAN YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT HE DOES. after all they live in the same house. in this day and time a thorough background should be done on all canidates by our government not the media. we never know who has our best intrest at heart. we should look forward but watch our back at the same same time and focus on our economy we are all hurting even the white people. Why would we want someone in office is surrounded by powerful people who hate AMERICA???????????????????

in the time of the history of the roman government politicians who were running for office had to denounce and reject Jesus because he was the litmus test and saviour. As it is today Farrakhan is the Jesus figure of our time and for black politicians to be excepted today he or she has to denounce farrakhan.I as a christian can admit to this.Farrakhan does matter to black people because if he did not two million men would not have show up October 16 1995 and a million black families on October 16 2005.Why is it that the government and the wise of the white race understand who farrakhan is and many of our religious and political figure in our so called black circle don;t?Jesus didn't matter all of the people of his time but he matter to the wise of the wicked government of his day.studied your history so,you will not be among the hypocrites of our day and time.
