Being a nice person is admirable, however it will not get you the needed sixty votes in the U.S. Senate to bring about change ! Will it be more advantageous to have a nice person in the white house or someone that has a proven track record that can build the coalitions that will allow all of us to prosper like President Clinton did during the 1090? We all got paid!
The last congressional election clearly shows that the population wants change, but without the sixty votes in the senate it hasn't happened! Senator Obama has yet to fully articulate HOW he plans on bringing about change! There is a significant difference between hope and reality. From what I???ve heard and seen from Senator Obama, there is more hope than reality. I will continue to pray for both Seantor Clinton and Senator Obama. -

you all know obama supports comprehensive immigration reform. Once it passes, lots of latinos will become citizens, outnumering blacks in many states.
Once they have the means they will vote their own into office to insure their future is secured meaning that since many latinos live in black districts, the black caucas will shrink and an expanding Latino congress will take over and bring more latinos to the USA changing the face of America forever, Habla espanol?-

Dwight,
I appreciate the candor of your fears, however I am astonished about the narrow lens in which you express them. Comprehensive immigration reform is certainly not about preserving a Black majority in our neighborhoods or in our government halls. Comprehensive immigration reform is about preserving our humanity. This is not about the number of our Latino brothers and sisters that will benefit, but about how we all benefit from understanding that oppression and bondage, whether lawful or not, is simply against our God given humanity. Furthermore, we as African-Americans stand to gain from comprehensive immigration reform. We gain because it is an opportunity to expand our base, and it's an opportunity to say that we will not do on to others what has been done on to us. I respectfully urge you to reexamine your stance on immigration reform-and see it from the lens of our rich Black History.

I am a firdt generation African who head of the inuguration of yourweb site on the radio today. I think its a very insightful and interesting magazine. Its juicy and I realy liked it. There are a lot of African American's who are doing things in Africa and the Carribeans with the aim of helping or bridging the gap. Having write up contributions on such topics will be very helpful to highlight the intergration or lack of intergration thereof for those of us who will be here for the rest of our lives.
On the real Roots aspects of the magazine, is there any prospect of extending the genology back to Africa. There are some of us who will want to trace the rest of our family members who came before us and those we have aquired here.
