At 12, in a program for talented youth, Chisholm was assigned to create something to make the world better. He came up with a walkie-talkie, bulletproof helmet. "That was the first thing that came to mind, making the police feel safer walking the streets," he said. He was encouraged by Johns Hopkins University faculty but lacked the funds to patent the idea. An aspiring science or mechanical-engineering major, the Lock Raven High School student plans to resume the project in the future.
