Starbury has pulled off his shirt, bleached his teeth and joined the rising popularity of Justin tv. It's a bit like watching a shoe commercial and a single-camera Christian ministry show.

Despite the franchise's groundbreaking racial history, hating the Boston Celtics used to be the birthright of black basketball fans everywhere. Now, like so much else, that is changing, too. Green is the new black.

Black Celtics fans are hard to come by, but as Boston tries to close out the series with the Lakers tonight, the C's remind me of the only color that matters.

Past NBA seasons have been easy to call. Nearly all of the same teams make it to Western and Eastern Conferences every year. Consistent top dogs have made championship wins seem almost predetermined. But, with the Celtics' win last season and the surprising turns of this one, call it the predictable NBA no more.
