Watch This: Bobby Says Whitney Introduced Drugs
Bobby Brown appeared on this morning's episode of the Today show in his first televised interview since Whitney Houston's death. The only unexpected bit of the segment was his adamant denial of the widespread rumor that it was his introduction of drugs into the singer's life that ultimately led to her struggles with addiction. Quite the contrary: Houston, he says, was the one who was the negative influence on him.
"I didn't get high before I met Whitney, on narcotics. No. I smoked weed, I drinked [sic] beer, but no I wasn't the one that got Whitney on drugs at all," he said.
Host Matt Lauer then began to ask him, "So this was a part of her life before ... " and Brown confirmed, "Way before me, yes. Way before me ... I worried about it when we first got together until I tried it, and when I tried it, for some reason I have an addictive personality. It's just unexplainable."
Do you believe him? And in light of the way things ended up so tragically and the role drugs played, does it really matter who started it?
