New Orleans Teacher Still Missing
New Orleans second-grade teacher Terrilynn Monette, who disappeared March 2 after a night out celebrating her Teacher of the Year nomination, is still missing nearly two weeks later, the Huffington Post reports. She was last seen talking to a man -- who has since been ruled out as a suspect -- outside her car at 4 a.m. Hundreds of volunteers searched for her in the nearby New Orleans City Park, but to no avail.
Monette, a participant in the city's "teachNOLA" program, which sends new teachers to troubled schools, was credited with significantly improving the performance of her students.
The New Orleans Police Department asks anyone with information about her whereabouts to call 504-658-4000.
