GOP Wants Automatic U.S. Citizenship Reconsidered

Fresh from the "Are you kidding us?" file, leading Republicans are pushing for a change to the constitutional amendment that grants automatic U.S. citizenship for children born in the United States. Senate Republican Mitch McConnell of Kentucky says that he supports holding hearings about the 14th Amendment, although he said Washington's immigration efforts should continue to focus on stricter border control. Basically, some Republicans feel that children of illegal immigrants should not have citizenship. Really? Does that include Eastern Europeans? Does that include some of their parents and grandparents? Shaking our heads at the audacity and blatant racism of this query over here at The Root.
