Bishop Eddie Long has canceled his press conference scheduled for today and his appearance on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, scheduled for Friday. The Atlanta-based mega-church pastor has been accused by three different men of sexual coercion. His spokesperson, Art Franklin, stated that he has been advised by his attorneys not to participate in a press conference or radio-show interview because of the third lawsuit that has been filed. Instead, Long will address the allegations from the pulpit on Sunday. That is good advice, since the press can be banned from the church, which is private property. Long also cannot be asked any questions, and he can retire to his study after delivering his sermon. Maybe his lawyers listened to the Tom Joyner Morning Show today and yesterday and heard how they went in on Long? Whatever the reason, Long is protecting himself, which is probably a good idea.
