Trayvon Martin would have turned 19 years old today had he not been shot and killed by George Zimmerman nearly two years ago. His mother, Sybrina Fulton, shared this birthday tribute to her slain son earlier today:

It's tough to digest, made more difficult by the news today that rapper DMX has accepted the challenge to fight Zimmerman in a celebrity boxing match, a media stunt from which Zimmerman is sure to profit.

But what were you doing when you were 19? Falling in love? Studying abroad? Making mistakes and learning from them? Using the hashtag #19forTrayvon, Colorlines put forth the question on Twitter, asking users to share their experiences to consider all that could have been for a life cut way too short.
