After nine years of marriage, singer Robin Thicke and actress Paula Patton confirmed their separation on Monday, much to the surprise of no one.

"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the couple said in a statement to People magazine. The two were together for 20 years, and in 2010 Patton gave birth to their son, Julian Fuego Thicke.

Despite talk of their open-marriage arrangement, rumors had been circulating that their union was in trouble since Thicke was caught groping a woman's derriere last fall. And last month, Thicke was photographed getting cozy with a woman at a nightclub in Paris.
