EmailBy now I imagine you all have realized that I feel a certain type of way about the rising costs of a college education and the limited funding options available to students.
Well The College Board released a report this week that cites a need for federal legislation that would open up in-state college tuition, financial aid and legal status to many illegal immigrants in the U.S.
While I'm well aware that illegal immigrants have a legal right to receive a K-12 education in the United States, isn’t it a bit much to suggest that we start using our tax dollars to cover the expenses of non-U.S. citizens seeking higher education?
Though I understand the need for all to obtain at least a four-year degree, with many illegal aliens being on the lower end of the economic scale, won’t they be taking away money from U.S. citizens who need aid?
I’ve read over the past year that some politicians want illegal immigrants to become eligible for PELL grants.
Now more than ever many students are struggling to stay in school yet some are advocating we shift focus to the plight of illegal immigrants.
I get the rationale behind the call for illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses and the like, but I don’t see why some would want to put them in competition with struggling American students over already scarce aid.
I still receive letters from both parents and students about their struggles with the cost of college tuition.
Why not help them first?

On my Paternal Side, we arrived here in 1729 and on my Maternal Side it was 1721. I have all the papers to prove it. I have to tell others that so that they won't call me an Immigrant too. In fact, we arrived here a half Century prior to the Convention of the 1st Contenental Crogress in Philadelphia. I am not from the United States -- I AM THE United States of America! I still had to pay for everything that I received; no free anything. My tax money has paid for several whole countries. I didn't say several illegal aliens books but I said several whole countries. In other words, I have funded several small Mexicos with my tax payments. Am I looking for a Revolution to straighten out this liberal mess that we are in? You bet. It might take all of 5-6 years and cost tens of thousands and perhaps hundreds of thousands of lives spent right here @ home, on the streets of the United States of America. But I know Americans. There is no other way that it can be cleaned up. This country (thanks to me and them) was built on Revolutions. We didn't change. Mexico is not going to change us. We are still going to be the same . . . Even after all of the blood shed. It's just common sense. It's not bigot It's not Zenophobe. It's not trillions upon trillions of dollars thrown at books that illegal alians won't ever read. It's COMMON SENSE!!! Rat-tat-tat!! Let's get it on and start saving future generatons. We did it before. This is still THE United States of America! Take it from someone who knows. I should. It's me!!!!
