letterman

President Obama was "getting it in" last night on Letterman.  After a verbose question from Letterman about the venom at the so-called town hall meetings and former Prez Jimmy Carter's allegations about a racist America, Obama told Letterman that contrary to popular and racist belief he was, in fact, a black man before the 2008 election.  Obama also went on to compare America's cruelty to him to how America degraded FDR with names like socialist and communist.  I'm with him on that.  However, nobody called FDR or Kennedy a liar or names that degrade one's race. I'm not sure if Obama is in denial about the amount of racism behind America's viciousness toward him or if he's just trying to keep it cool, easy and productive.

But one last thing: I wish our president walked up on the platform with Letterman before he shook his hand.  Letterman towered above him during that handshake and that didn't sit well with a brother, like me, focused on equality. In my humble opinion, a president should never look up to someone while shaking hands.
