LA Fitness Gunman Posted Plans on Website
The news of the LA Fitness slayings outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is spreading rapidly. A self-proclaimed loner walked into a "Latin impact" dance aerobics class, turned off the lights, and started shooting. Three women were killed and several others were injured. The gunman also killed himself. But what rips at my heart is that the identified gunman, George Sodini, has been posting murder plans on his website for the last nine months. You mean to say that NO ONE perused his site and thought his writings were a bit homicidal? No one thought, "Hey. Here's a radical idea. This maniac is online plotting a murder. Maybe I should alert the local police, or the fitness center"? The dude posted on his website how he brought loaded guns to the same aerobics class on January 6, but "chickened out". I'm sorry, but no one in the country surfed the internet, stumbled upon Sodini, and read this? I know the cyberland has trumped real human interaction [and concern, for that matter], but a murder plot, come on. I'm saddened by the rise in a cyber-inspired hands-off America. You mean, NO ONE stumbled upon this website? Wow.
