A Plane, A Photo Shoot, A Furious Obama
I agree with President Obama as well as NYC Mayor Bloomberg about the recent flyover in lower Manhattan. That was one of the most idiotic and senseless government-approved decisions in quite some time. A photo shoot of a Boeing 747 near the site of 9/11? It doesn't get any more heartless than that. Louis Caldera, director of the White House Military Office, you know, the man behind the stupidity, should be removed from his position. Less than eight years ago an entire city, the world, was knocked to its knees when two jets crashed into the World Trader Center. I once worked at World Trade #7 and lost a few of my former Salomon Brothers co-workers to the horror. Not only that, people are still trying to pull the pieces together, emotionally and/or economically from that disaster. So what idiot would decide one morning, "Oh, I have a great idea! How about a photo shoot near the site where thousands died after two jets flew low and crashed into two buildings?!" What was he thinking? Eight years should be enough time to bounce back and trust the skies? Caldera was either smoking, drinking, or in desperate need of a vacation.
What are your thoughts on this?
