Lynn Nottage's "Ruined" Wins Pulitzer Prize

Condola Rashad, Cherise Booth and Quincy Tyler Bernstine in Ruined

Ruined, the Off-Broadway play that examines the lives of Congolese women, has won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.  I'm especially stoked:  I know Lynn as well as most of the cast of the current Off-Broadway production.  So I'm throwing up a toast for them and Ms. Nottage's beautifully written and provocative play.  If you're in NYC or you're close [and yes, that means D.C., Boston, Philly], come out and support an amazing play written by a very talented African-American writer who has provided a rare opportunity for extremely talented African-American actors to do what they do best—make amazing art that places the complexity of black life front and center.  It's a triumphant day!
