KEITH JOSEF'S BLOG ROLL

    What's Your Favorite Sitcom Episode?

I was skimming through the Village Voice this morning. You know, checking out tabloid pics of last weekend's Exxotica Expo, perusing Eugene Holley Jr.'s interview with Meshell Ndegeocello, and taking a peak at a lukewarm review of Roger Guenveur Smith's 20-year-old solo show Frederick Douglass Now. However, none of that grabbed my full attention as did Michael Musto's The Daily Musto. Musto's blog exposes the catty and celeb of NYC, and isn't an usual cyber destination for me. [I don't like catty and celebs usually get on my nerves.]  But I decided Musto's "What's Your Favorite Sitcom Episode" post was a perfect procrastination.

Musto picked a Mary Tyler Moore episode as his all-time favorite. The one where Ted has a heart attack and rethinks the importance of sunsets and friendships. Uh, none of that for me. My favorite sitcom episode was from Good Times. It was the "Dinner Party" episode when the Evanses learn one of their elderly neighbors is eating dog food. As a kid, I thought it was one of the most profound statements about the elderly, poverty, social security and social judgment.

What's your favorite sitcom episode and why?
