When 22-month-old Ashton Howell’s mother saw a meme of her son, she didn’t know what to think. But she wanted to track down the person who posted her son’s image to the internet.
Ariel Griggs, 29, of Mobile, Ala., had no clue that her brother, 18-year-old Steven Small, a freshman at University of California, Berkeley, had posted a photo of his nephew to Instagram. And now everyone, from regular people on social media to celebrities like Tyrese, is getting in on Ashton’s meme-worthy cuteness.
“He thought it was funny to dress Ashton up, putting his ‘little’ big head in caps and stuff and taking pictures of him. I found out he has tons of pictures of Ashton on Instagram. I guess people just thought his pictures were cute and went from there,” Griggs told AL.com.
“I’m kind of leery of social media. I kinda think that my brother set this up as a ploy to get more followers on Instagram, but he hasn’t admitted yet,” Griggs said.
And, of course, there’s now a Twitter account dedicated solely to “Honey Bun Baby”:
Cute babies always win on social media.
