Bill Cosby’s Lawyer Claims the Comedian Is ‘Legally and Functionally Blind’

Well, isn’t now just a great time to mention that?

Remember that cloudy eye Bill Cosby has been sporting for a while? Well, apparently, according to his attorney Monica Pressley, Cosby’s health and his eyes are deteriorating. During an interview with CBS This Morning, Pressley called Cosby a “blind man”: “He’s a 78-year-old blind man who they’ve chosen to charge. That’s not a defense to a charge; that’s just a fact.”

Cosby’s health is currently being used in his defamation lawsuit against Beverly Johnson. Cosby’s legal team claimed, “Mr. Cosby has suffered from a degenerative eye condition for years, which has steadily worsened recently to the point that he for over a year has been legally and functionally blind.”

Funny, back in May, Cosby was walking across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala., and he seemed just fine.

According to NBC, if Cosby is found guilty, he faces up to 10 years in prison and would have to register as a sex offender. A preliminary hearing has been set for Jan. 14.
