Just over 23 years ago, the kidnapping of a baby from Harlem Hospital exposed the need for greater security and training at public hospitals. Now that the Carlina White case has been solved, it's worth asking if the conditions that led to her abduction have changed.

It was never a powerful monolith but, rather, a wide range of groups with different styles and -- usually -- common goals. Many movement veterans say that approach could work again.

One argument for his re-election was allowing him to retire with dignity. Now that's he's been found guilty of violating House rules, any exit will be messy.

He's either sly as a fox or "brazen and arrogant." Never mind those ethics charges -- as the New York congressman campaigns for his 21st term in office, he seems determined to keep on doing the Harlem shuffle.
