First Lady Michelle Obama to Visit China 

She will be joined by daughters Malia and Sasha on a trip later this month focusing on education.

First lady Michelle Obama will be venturing into the vast Republic of China with stops in Beijing, Xi’an and Chengdu for an educational tour, the White House said Monday according to the Washington Post.

Daughters Malia and Sasha Obama will be on the trip, along with the first lady’s mother, Marian Robinson.

During the trip FLOTUS will meet with Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and take in cultural and historical sites. The trip will be focused on education.

According to the Post, the Obamas will prep for the trip by visiting D.C.’s own Yu Ying public charter school, which has a Mandarin-immersion program.
