A member of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s administration resigned on Friday after being subpoenaed in the investigation into an alleged plan to close lanes of the George Washington Bridge for political payback, causing massive traffic delays over four days in September 2013, the Associated Press reports.

Christina Genovese Renna leaves amid claims from Christie loyalist David Wildstein that he has evidence that the governor knew about the massive traffic jam, AP reports.

Renna reported directly to Deputy Chief of Staff Bridget Kelly, who allegedly set the lane closings in motion with an email to Wildstein. Renna confirmed her resignation to AP through a statement Sunday from her lawyer, Henry Klingeman.

According to AP, Renna said that she had been considering leaving her post since the November election, which Christie won handily. Renna is one of 17 people close to Christie who have been subpoenaed by a legislative panel, AP reports.
