President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Feb. 22, 2012. Scheduled to open in 2015, the museum will be the only national museum devoted to African-American life, art, history and culture.
