House Censures Rangel in 333-79 Vote

After receiving the most severe rebuke the U.S. House has dealt in nearly 30 years, the 80-year-old congressman apologizes and pleads for leniency.

“He knows he messed up. He knows he will be punished,” Scott said. “We just ask that he be punished like everybody else…There is no precedent for censure in this case.”
