A 60-year-old Indiana woman has become a mother for the first time, giving birth to fraternal twin boys last week, WFIE reports.
“I cried. I was like, you know, you look at TV and you see other people in the delivery room and … it’s like, oh my goodness. And it was me. So, joy, it was so sweet,” Claudette Cook told the news station. “Everything changed in that moment. Once they’re born, your life changes.”
The twins, Isaac and Isaiah, each weighed 5 pounds at birth, almost a month before Cook’s due date.
According to the news station, Cook and her husband, Ross, met 10 years ago in church. However, nine years ago, Claudette Cook was told by doctors that she would never have children because of her age. She proved them wrong.
“Doors started opening up and bam,” she said.
“Age is but a number with God. Plus, I was healthy and in shape. I was like … I know I can do this. No matter how hard it was, he brought me through it all, so, awesome God,” the proud new mother said.
