  • Bio:

Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley has been an integral part of popular music since he worked with Missy Elliott, Ginuwine and Aaliyah in the mid-1990s. In 2013, he is still making hits in all genres -- and not peripheral ones either. This year, Timbaland's star rose yet again as the man behind Justin Timberlake's "Suit and Tie" and "Mirrors," Beyoncé's Pepsi commercial theme song and Jay Z's "Picasso Baby" (incidentally, the Virginia Beach, Va., native signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation camp at the top of the year). Not one to rest on his laurels, Timbaland is reportedly behind the boards of the long-anticipated Missy Elliott comeback album, and is even rumored to be tweaking a new project with the long-gone King of Pop, Michael Jackson, a project he describes as "two kings working together."

  • Fun Fact: As a teenager in Virginia Beach, Va., Timbaland was part of a production group that included Pharrell; he also was a friend of Pusha T and Malice of the rap group Clipse.
