  • Bio:

Making our list this year for her broad and ambitious technological vision, Laura Weidman Powers is an innovator, working to create a Silicon Valley that is representative of America, not one where only one in every 14 tech employees is black or Latino. To do this, she co-founded CODE2040, which is named for how America's ethnic demographics are projected to shift by the year 2040. For this Harvard grad, there's no better time than the present to get more minorities involved in the tech space. Because of her work with CODE2040, Weidman Powers won the Stanford Social Innovation Fellowship as well as the Open Society Foundations and Echoing Green's Black Male Achievement Fellowship.
