  • Bio: Through his multicultural marketing agency, Translation, Steve Stoute has used his branding magic to pair Chris Brown with Doublemint gum and LeBron James with StateFarm insurance, but his most recent -- and perhaps most visible -- feat was helping to pair business partner Jay-Z with Budweiser for September's Made in America two-day music festival. The show's diverse lineup (Jay-Z and Pearl Jam were both headliners) provided one of the "tanning moments" he discussed in his 2011 book, The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created a Culture That Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy. "I really want to break down genres in all media -- film, TV, radio," he told Billboard before the festival. "I think that genres in media drive that separation and Made In America is going to show it doesn't make a difference, as long as you can bring people together under the same mindset."
