  • Bio: Since taking the helm at Ebony two years ago, Amy DuBois Barnett has upped the magazine's profile so fast that in 2011, Advertising Age named it the 13th-fastest-growing magazine in the U.S. The magazine's average paid circulation in 2011 was 1.2 million. In 2012 she brought her signature vision to the magazine's website, which got a fashionable, contemporary redesign and a sharper editorial focus. Since the site's relaunch, traffic has doubled, according to Johnson Publishing. It received 42,000 monthly unique visitors in June 2012 (comScore). Thanks to Barnett, this is no longer your grandmother's Ebony.
