It turns out that Beyoncé has been a silent benefactor to the less fortunate in her hometown all along, according to Music.Mic.

The renowned musician was recently outed by her pastor for giving some $7 million over the past five years to fund a housing complex for the homeless—the Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments—in Houston.

"She is an incredible human being, has an incredible heart, and has been extremely helpful in our ministry and our mission here," the Rev. Rudy Rasmus of the St. Johns United Methodist Church said in an interview with local station KHOU, according to the entertainment site. "She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work. I'm glad she's a friend of mine."

Rasmus oversaw Beyoncé’s wedding back in 2008.
