Beleaguered Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s racist tirade was spurred by jealousy of black men whom he viewed as competition for the affection of V. Stiviano, the New York Post reports, citing a new recording obtained by Radar Online.

Explaining the rant that got him banned for life from the NBA, a man who is said to be Sterling’s intimates that he was threatened because V. Stiviano, 31, was mingling with black men and posting photos on social media.

“The girl is black,” the man says. “I like her. I’m jealous that she’s with other black guys. I want her. So what the hell? Can’t I in private tell her, ‘I don’t want you to be with anybody’?”

Before that, the man is heard saying in the Radar Online recording: “I’m talking to a girl. I’m trying to have sex with her. I’m trying to play with her. If you were trying to have sex with a girl and you’re talking to her privately and you don’t think anybody’s there, you may say anything in the world!

“Then, if the girl tapes it and releases it, my God, it’s awful,” he is heard saying. “Who thinks anybody’s gonna tape something?”

Stiviano reportedly insists that she never slept with Sterling, 80, and that he gave her expensive cars and a condo because of their deep friendship, the Post says.
