In 2007 Kanye West sampled Elton John's Someone Saved My Life Tonight on his hit single Good Morning. Three years later, West invited John to his Hawaii studio to play piano for All of the Lights on his critically praised album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

So don't be shocked if you hear that West is hopping on an Elton John track to repay the favor, which would be absolutely cool with the knighted singer.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the 66-year-old music legend revealed that he's interested in making hip-hop.

"I'd love to," John told the magazine. "I just don't know how to do it. I do love electronica. So, for me, I'd have to work with someone who knows about it, like a Pharrell or a Kanye, who I respect tremendously. I'd love to do that."

John said that he is open to working in a new genre: "You never can knock anybody else's type of music until you try it. I could never do a rap record because I wouldn't know where to start. You can learn so much from working with somebody that does. In the studio with Kanye, when I was doing that in Honolulu, he was just on fire. It was amazing to watch. You knew you were in the presence of greatness. I knew once I heard four or five tracks from that in the studio, I knew it was going to be a motherf--ker of a record."
