A young aspiring model is using an alleged domestic violence incident to shine light on partner abuse and how serious and life threatening it can be.

Mori Gabriella Montgomery, 19, has been posting pictures to her social media accounts of her gruesome injuries allegedly caused by an abusive boyfriend, New York's Daily News reports.

Montgomery claims that the man pushed her out of a moving vehicle in February before beating her up—until she blacked out—on a street in a Las Vegas.

"Pity is not what I ask from you," she wrote on her Twitter account to almost 10,000 followers, where she posted pictures of some of her injuries. "I am well aware that those pictures may look as if I want attention, but that is far from my goal here."

She described her boyfriend—whom she had seeing for about eight months when things started getting ugly—as jealous and aggressive. "We were playing one day, and he slapped me really hard. He apologized straight after, so I didn’t think anything of it, really, until this happened,” the Daily News quoted her saying to another source.

During the drive, he allegedly began accusing her of cheating and then started attacking her. "I was kicked out of a moving vehicle, then beaten and dragged, as I blacked out and was left lying there in my own puddle of blood," she said. "Doctors said I could have died."

Montgomery detailed her injuries, which include cuts and scarring to her arms, chest and shoulder and bruised ribs. She will have to wear a neck brace for about a month.

She is also pressing charges against the now ex-boyfriend. "Domestic violence is such an overlooked crime," Montgomery said. "Nobody truly understands how often tragedies happen due to spouse mistreatment. I plan to put an end to the silence.

"I ask to please continue to keep me in your prayers, for I have a long journey of recovery ahead of me," she continued. "Not just physically but emotionally as well."
