The mother of the Omaha, Neb., toddler who was seen cursing at adults in the so-called Thug Cycle video is defending her son, saying he is no different from any other child, according to CNN.

"He had a clean diaper, the house was clean and like they said, kids curse; every kid does it," the unidentified 16-year-old mother told CNN affiliate KETV in an exclusive interview.

"He's a smart little boy. All that cussing that he did, he doesn't do that," she added. "Somebody told him to do that. My son doesn't do that. I don't allow it."

According to the mother, it was her brother's friend who filmed the video while she was in another room. She says that the fingers pointing at her for being a bad mother are wrong, and insists that she cares well for her son.

"He was wrong for doing that ... posting the video up and getting us into this situation," she said. "Everybody that thinks I'm a bad mother; I'm not. I'm a good mother to my son. I teach him a lot. He's very smart."

On Wednesday the child, along with three other children, was removed from the home by Omaha’s Child Victim Unit and the Nebraska Child Protective Services, despite finding no illegal activity, over safety concerns.

The mother is also in protective custody. According to the report, court records show that the toddler was among five injured in October by shots that were fired at a home.

According to the CNN affiliate, the child and mother have already been relocated by the state in the past because of fears concerning gang activity.
