While there’s no word yet on whether his film will get a distributor, Simien is happy with his first Sundance experience. “I didn’t come with specific expectations,” he said. “At the end of the day, what I just remember are some of the conversations I’ve had with people who’ve seen the movie. That makes me happy because I feel like we did what we came here to do.”
