(The Root) -- When Jason Collins announced to the world that he was gay on the cover of the May 6 issue of Sports Illustrated, the announcement took the media by storm. As the first athlete in America's four major professional team sports to come out, Collins was quickly crowned a hero by many people. Even President Obama said, "I'm very proud of him."

But behind all the public fanfare and adulation that Collins received for his bravery, the people closest to Collins had to process the news quite differently. Take, for example, Carolyn Moos, Collins' former fiancée. Collins came out to her privately a couple of days before he went public, but no sooner was the news released than she started making the media rounds. Now she is going to tell her story in book form, which she announced on her personal website:

Carolyn will be writing a book as she reflects on her recent life events about her former fiancé. She welcomes submitted questions from the public about what they would like to hear more on given topics that were discuss at the surface level in the interviews. Send your questions to questions@carolynmoos.com and Carolyn will review all of them as she begins to write.

No details yet as to how the book is going to cover Collins' coming out or even when it will be released, but rest assured, people do have questions. Here's hoping that Moos' book has the answers.
