Did Marvin Gaye's Son Make Kravitz Drop Out of Biopic?

The singer will be replaced by Law & Order's Jesse L. Martin. But who's behind the sudden change?

Lenny Kravitz has dropped out of the upcoming Marvin Gaye biopic, Sexual Healing, less than a month before the planned start of filming. No official explanation has been issued for why Kravitz stepped down from the role, but Gaye's son, Marvin Gaye III, will likely be pleased. Late last year he said of the casting choice, "The producers and directors of this film are very wrong ... They don't even know the whole story."

Kravitz will be replaced by former Law & Order star Jesse L. Martin.
