Lagerfeld Slams First Lady's Bangs

Oh well. There are far worse things to look like than a news anchor, right?

Designer Karl Lagerfeld has weighed in on Adele's body, Pippa Middleton's face, models' bodies and more, so it was no surprise when he answered with brutal honesty when asked about first lady Michelle Obama's new(ish) bangs in an interview with France's Canal Plus. In short: He's not a fan.

From the Huffington Post:

In an interview for France's Canal Plus, the Chanel creative director told host Yann Barthes, "I don't understand the change of hair ... Frankly, the fringe was a bad idea. It's not good." Karl went on to say that Michelle now looks like "une speakerine de LCI." Translation: She looks like a news anchor. Méchant, Karl.

To be fair, the designer did say that he adores "Madame Obama," so we assume this was his attempt at constructive criticism.

Oh well. There are far worse things to look like than a news anchor. And frankly, we're sure the first lady would prefer blunt-style feedback from an expert than hate disguised as wardrobe feedback by the likes of Rush Limbaugh.
