Alvin Ailey dancer says farewell after 30-year career: Renee Robinson is in the midst of her final performances with the famous African-American dance company, including as the iconic lady with the white parasol in Ailey's famed Revelations.

White House agrees to share drone memo: Under pressure from lawmakers who hold in their hands the fate of several of his nominees, President Obama has agreed to provide a pair of intelligence committees access to a secret memo on the targeted killings of American terrorism suspects overseas. 

Josh DuBois to leave White House: President Obama announced on Thursday at the National Prayer Breakfast that The Root 100 honoree Joshua DuBois, who heads his Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, would be leaving the post, effective Friday. The president thanked DuBois and said the young pastor sent him daily emails with spiritual messages.

Three Memphis, Tenn., parks drop names that honor Confederate pasts: "We are becoming a city that is inclusive and respectful," said Memphis Councilman Lee Harris in an interview with Reuters on Wednesday. "Those names were dividing rather than uniting."
