If a snippet from a reality-TV show promo counts as an announcement, Whitney Houston's daughter is set to wed childhood friend Nick Gordon.

In a promo for Lifetime's The Houston's: On Our Own, Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late Whitney Houston, announces to her family, "We're engaged," seemingly confirming the rumors that have surrounded her relationship with childhood friend Nick Gordon since shortly after her mother's death.

But ABC News' Sheila Marikar points out that that snippet doesn't actually mean the two are engaged, reminding readers that rumors about the plans for matrimony have "repeatedly been shot down." Guess we'll have to watch the reality show to find out for sure. Which, of course, is probably just what Brown, Gordon, and/or Lifetime intended. From ABC:

Rumors about Brown and Gordon's engagement started months ago. They've been repeatedly shot down. In the clip, Brown's aunt Pat Houston calls the engagement "unacceptable," and earlier this week, she told ABCNews.com that Brown and Gordon merely have a "very, very strong friendship."

"A lot of teenagers, when they hit 18, they think they're grown," Houston told ABCNews.com. "They think they know it all, they think they know about relationships. You just have to be there to navigate and guide them."
