Well, this probably isn't the list you'll want to show the kid you mentor while you try to convince him or her that education will provide more opportunities than athleticism.

From Forbes' top 100 highest-paid athletes in the world, BET has extracted the 15 top-earning black and Latino sports stars. It's a group that has two boxers at the top and some mind-blowing numbers throughout -- and the list as a whole is enough to make you want to take a break from your day job and practice your uppercut or golf swing. It's never too late to pursue your dreams! OK, maybe it is. Anyway, here are the first three spots, from BET:

#1 Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Professional Boxer
Total earnings: $85 million
Salary/winnings: $85 million
Endorsements: $0

#2 Manny Pacquiao
Professional Boxer
Total earnings: $62 million

Endorsements: $6 million

#3 Tiger Woods
