A Miami dad is getting attention for his use of an innovative and embarrassing method to teach his son a lesson about the consequences of poor academic performance and behavior.

The seventh-grade student was forced to stand on a street corner with a sign reading, "I want to be a class clown. Is it wrong?" and asking cars to honk if they agreed that failing three classes was bad.

This type of out-of-the-box discipline always gets attention, and particularly in the black community, some of us get really excited about tough love in any form. Remember all the cheers for the uncle who whipped his nephew with a belt on Facebook for wanting to be a gangbanger?
