Single Black Female pilot coming to BET: The network has given Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil the green light for a new pilot titled, Single Black Female, which is expected to air in August. It will be based on the work-family balance of a single black woman who is the host of a popular Atlanta talk show, similar to The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The MTV News special, airing at 7:30 p.m. EST and hosted by Sway Calloway, will feature interview clips of Houston from her network debut in 1986 through her final interview.
